Chester Russell, "Chet", beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, was born July 8, 1918 in Harrisonville, MO to James and Edna Russell, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in Tyler, TX. Chet was a resident of Anthony, NM for 57 years, and a school bus contractor for the Gadsden School District for 30 years. He was also a veteran of the Army Air Corp during WWII. Chet is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris, (nee Boone); Three sons, Richard of El Paso, TX; Gary and his wife Kathy of Tyler, TX; and Ronnie and his wife Pam of Allen, TX. Two sisters, Margaret Comstock of Belton, MO and Dorothy Sledd of Kansas City, MO. Five grandsons, one grand daughter, six great grand daughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, three sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:30 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 15, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Brown and Yates Folk officiating. Internment will follow in the Anthony Cemetery, Anthony, NM. Serving, as pallbearers will be Jason, Michael, Reese, and Joseph Russell; Lonnie, Randy and Jamey Boone; and Sandy Scott.
