Clara Ann Bell

Clara Ann Bell, 81 of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at The Village at Northrise, Desert Willows. She was born May 9, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and Catherine Bell. She enlisted in the United States Women's Army Corp and was retired from the US Army. Clara was a very gracious person, donating to many various charities. She was also a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She is survived by her best friend and guardian angel, Margaret Gold; one brother, Thomas J. Bell and wife Mary Claire; four sisters, Margaret Wesseling; Dorothy C. Bell; Charlotte Hughes, and Catherine Obrecht and husband Robert. Also surviving her is a sister in law, Marilyn Bell, brother in law, Leon Hughes, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles Bell and John E. Bell Jr. and brother in law, Robert J. Wesseling. At Clara's request, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass will be held at 10 am on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda St. Officiating will be Msgr. John Anderson. Her ashes will be buried in the family plot at St. Joseph's Old Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. The family request's that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada, 299 E. Montana, Las Cruces, NM 88005 or The Humane Society of Southern New Mexico, 403 S. Melendres, Las Cruces, NM 88005.
