Clarence Curtin Townsend died Monday, December 17, 2007, which would have been his 27th wedding anniversary to his wife Juanita Marie Townsend. Internment will be held at 11:00 AM- Friday, December 21, 2007 at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Mr. Townsend was born in Weimar, Texas to Margaret Heyer and Clarence Curtin Geiselman on November 9, 1916. He was a longtime resident of Dickinson, Texas and most recently lived in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He attended Ball High School in Galveston and graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Engineering. He retired as a regional manager of McCrory, McClellan and H.L. Green Stores. He was a lifelong member of the Lions Club, International and a Mason among his many volunteer services. He served with distinction as a Corporal in the United States Army Air Corps and served in the European Theater with the Eighth Air Force, Twentieth Bomb Wing, Third Air Division in World War II. He is preceded in death by his first wife Thelma and second wife Juanita. Survivors include his son Tom Townsend and wife Angela of Las Cruces, New Mexico; son David Townsend of Galveston; granddaughters Nichole and Alexis; and great grandson Logan. He is best remembered by his friends for his kind heart, gentle manner and sensitivity toward others in needs.
