Clarence "Clancy" H. Kammann, 76, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008. He was born Jan. 24, 1932 in Avoca, Nebraska to Herman and Lena Kammann. After serving four years in the US Navy, Clancy attended the University of Nebraska and received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. Clarence "Clancy" H. Kammann, 76, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008. He was born Jan. 24, 1932 in Avoca, Nebraska to Herman and Lena Kammann. After serving four years in the US Navy, Clancy attended the University of Nebraska and received his Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. He moved to Minnesota and spent 25 years designing computers for Control Data Corporation. After retiring he spent ten years at Medtronic designing heart pacemakers. He was an avid reader and crossword solver in his later years. In his younger years he enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, building things in his workshop and most importantly spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Mary Kules Kammann of the family home; sons Paul Kammann and wife Julie Thompson of Plymouth, MN, Dan Kammann and wife Suzanne of Champlin, MN, Bob Kammann and wife Sue of Woodbury, MN, Chuck Kules and wife Jan of Littleton, CO and Douglas Kules and wife Cathy of Menomonie, WI; daughter Susan Szeliga and husband Rick of Dayton, NV; sisters Hilda Kammann of Avoca, NE and Katherine Weir and husband Bill of North Platte, NE; grandchildren Joe, Maggie, Derek, Molly and Jill Kammann, Andy and Jacob Sison, Jenny, Katie, Kristina, Ben and Joe Kules and by great-grandchildren Amanda, Joe, Presley, Olivia, Sean and Reece. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 at Getz Funeral Home.
