Clarence (TAC) Tacquard was born Aug. 17, 1926 in Alta Loma (now Santa Fe) Texas, the child of Arthur Tacquard and Alice Cronier. He was the youngest of six children, all of whom predeceased him. He served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946, and then worked for Alaska Airlines in Anchorage. He lived in Alamogordo for ten years and worked at Holloman Air Force Base on the testing of several missile systems while working for NORAIR. He worked for Northrop Ventura and was involved in the Apollo program. In 1972, Northrop sent a crew to Las Cruces which included Tac. When the crew returned to California, Tac resigned so he could stay in the Las Cruces area. He later was employed by Lockheed and by Raytheon on the Patriot Missile system. He did his work very well and truly loved it and he was rewarded with several commendations for the jobs he did. He is survived by his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Nadine. She and Tac's daughter, Renee live in Durango. CO. His sons are David of Virginia Beach, VA, Scott of Aurora, CO, Christopher and Gary of Lake Elsinore, CA and Michael of Temecula, CA and by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On September 27, 1974, Tac married Norma Cullins Kinney who had four children and also survive him. Jay Kinney and wife Rachel of Potomac, MD, Curt Kinney and wife Lana, Carol Kinney Perry and Teryl Kinney Beck and husband Rick all of Las Cruces. He is also survived by five step-grandchildren, Dominic Fierro, Eric Fierro and wife Tomasita all of Las Cruces, Heather Kinney of Washington, DC, Meegan Fierro and Amanda Fierro Lujan and husband Joshua all of Spring, TX. No services are planned at this time, but if you would like to remember Tac, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or to Mesilla Valley Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
