Cleo May Shinn, 92 of Las Cruces, New Mexico died on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Cleo May (Grove) Shinn was born to Vern Grove and Bertha Priest on February 2, 1914 in Gas, Kansas. She attended school and was raised in Iola, Kansas. She worked in Ramsey's Department Store when she met and married Leon W. Shinn in Iola December 24, 1934. After a brief stay in McPherson, Kansas they moved to Wichita, Kansas where they lived for 44 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed every aspect of being a homemaker and mother. She also, worked selling newspapers (Wichita Eagle and Beacon) for 17 years at Saint Frances Hospital. She loved to play bridge. Cleo moved to Las Cruces in 1984. Cleo is survived by her daughter Betty McCaslin, and husband Bobby McCaslin of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Two grandchildren Mike McCaslin and wife Leslie and their two children, Jason and Ellie of Amarillo, Texas and Nancy Tillett and husband James and their two children, Julia and Jade of Portland, Oregon. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Bronson Kansas Cemetery. PDF Printable Version
