Concepcion V. "Concha" Najera, 80, of Las Cruces died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007. She was born Oct. 17, 1926 to Luciano and Eulalia Valadez in El Paso, TX. Concha was a resident of Las Cruces since 1961. Concepcion V. "Concha" Najera, 80, of Las Cruces died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007. She was born Oct. 17, 1926 to Luciano and Eulalia Valadez in El Paso, TX. Concha was a resident of Las Cruces since 1961. She had a love for music, gardening, and making flower arrangements. However, her passion in life was for her family. She will be forever deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons Ernesto Najera and wife Margaret of Mesilla Park, NM, Jose Luis "Joe" Najera and wife Genevieve of Midland, TX; daughters Olga Najera de Loomis and husband Neil and Mary Ellen Navarro and husband Ignacio "Nacho" all of Las Cruces and Gloria Butler and husband David of Sierra Vista, AZ; brothers Raul Valadez and wife Beatrice of La Puente, CA, Rodolpho Valadez of Alamogordo, NM, Armando Valadez and wife Eva of Ruidoso, NM and Roberto Valadez and wife Yolanda of Del Cerro, NM; sister Eva Galvan of Stockton, CA; sisters-in-law Carmen Romo, Esther Viscarra and Candelaria Najera; brother-in-law Gus Najera; grandchildren Angela, Ernest Jr., Miguel, Joey, Santiago, Marissa, Brandon, Ryan, Jessica, Dustin, Donovan, Deloni, David and Andrew; 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Concha was preceded in death by her husband Jose Maria "Chema" Najera and two brothers Alfredo and Jose. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. Her funeral mass is at 10:00 AM Friday, Sept. 14, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Msgr. John Anderson officiating. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
