Consuelo F. Nunez

Consuelo F. Nunez, 91, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009. "Lita" as she was fondly known was born April 8, 1918 in San Pedro, Coahuila, Mexico to Jose and Maria Gonzalez Frausto. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and working in her garden but her passion was for her family. Mrs. Nunez will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Ramon Nunez and wife Margaret of Las Cruces; daughter Elvira Talamantes of San Jose, CA; grandchildren Vanessa Castaneda and husband Steven, Connie Talamantes and companion Steven, Beatrice Burnett and husband Richard, Trisha Reeser and husband Ken and J.R. Talamantes and wife Wendy; 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving her are two brothers Robert Frausto of Las Cruces and Edward Frausto of El Paso, TX and sister Esperanza Juarez of Stockton, CA. Lita was preceded in death by her loving husband Delfino H. Nunez, parents, brothers Francisco, Margarito, Joe and Rudy Frausto and by her two granddaughters Delia Nunez Chavez and Margaret Ann Banegas. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, Nov.11, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. A funeral mass to celebrate her life is at 2 PM on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Don Adamski officiating. Rite of Committal at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are J.R. Talamantes, R.V. Rivera, Devin Stephens, Alvin Rey Banegas, Al Banegas and Steven Castaneda. Honorary Pallbearers are her brothers Robert and Edward. PDF Printable Version
