Daniel F. Flores

Beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, Daniel F. Flores, age 62, of Las Cruces, NM, died May 6, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Born in Anthony, NM, on June 20, 1949, he was preceded in death by his parents Perfecto Fierro and Anita Flores and foster parents: Manuel and Sara Morones He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of 19 years, Lupe Dominguez-Flores; sons Danny Jr. (Renee), Ramiro and Michael all of Albuquerque NM, Frank Gonzales, (Sylvia) of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Richard Gonzales of Fort Worth, TX; daughter Sylvia R. Kreager (Dave) of Phelan CA; brothers Jose Fierro (Annie) of Deming, NM and Frank Nevarez of La Mesa, NM; sister Peggy Harrison of T or C, NM and foster sister Mary Morones of La Mesa, NM; grandchildren Toni, Danny III, Larissa, Angel, Michael Jr., Melissa, Desiree, Anthony Dineen, Nikki Rose, Angelee Gonzales and Brian Ochoa. Daniel was an usher at St. Albert the Great Newman Center, Las Cruces, NM, where he participated at the annual Passion Play and barbeque dinner. He was a Brother Knight of the Las Cruces Council 1226, where he served as Family Unity Director and Church Director. Daniel and Lupe were recognized as Family of the Year in 2009 by the Council. He and his wife became members of La Corporation de los Indigenes de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe and were mayordomas for the annual fiesta in honor of Our Lady in 1997, 2003, and 2009. Several of the members stated he had been missed due to his illness. He was not one to shy from work as they noted. He had countless friends and co-workers (Chuck's Electric Motors, Polo's Plumbing, and Lohman Radiator) who never stopped calling, sending cards and going to visit him at the hospital during his many stays throughout the 15 months of his illness. Viewing and visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 11, 2012, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Sanctuary, Tortugas, NM, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. following with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, May 12, viewing and visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. with Funeral Mass following at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Tortugas Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Bobby Parra, Martin Clark, Jesus (Chuy) Rodriguez, Patrick Narvaez, Henry Arzabal, and Ken Passler. Honorary pallbearers Art Hernandez, Mannie Morales, Peter Ferrales, Billy Lucero, Dan Rivera, Albert Grijalva, Felipe Chavez and Henry Narvaez.
