Daniel Aguilar Garcia, 86, of Las Cruces, NM departed this earthly life on October 07, 2023, deeply loved and surrounded by family.

Daniel was born on July 20, 1937, in Las Cruces, NM to Guadalupe and Carmen Garcia, where he grew up on McCarty Dairy Farm, which he always remembered fondly. He was drafted to the US Navy in 1955, where he served in Japan and Korea. Daniel then returned to Las Cruces in 1957 and worked for LCPD as a dispatcher, before transferring to become a traffic cop in the motorcycle division. He then worked as a car salesman, had a brief stint as a TV repairman, worked in trucking and then found great joy in construction, especially once he became a civil engineer and surveyor. Upon retirement, he served as a security officer, and you could often find him woodworking in his prized “Man-Cave”. Daniel relocated often with work, but lived in Phoenix, AZ and Abilene, TX for extended periods of time.

Daniel was a member of the Catholic church, the American Legion (10 years) and a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a true example of strength, as well as a cherished son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Helen Villegas Garcia, his brothers Alfredo and Guadalupe Jr, his sister, Mary Helen, and his daughters, Valerie Asa and Lucille. He is survived by his brother Raymond (Evelyn), his children, Debra Gallegos, Danny (Lupe), Terry (Jerome), Garry (Susan), Steve (Dolores), James, David, VonDrea and Veronica Denman (Mark). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ashes will be retained by the family for a private burial and service to be performed at a later time.
