Daniel Robert Audetat was born April 22, 1956 in Los Angeles, California. Daniel was welcomed home March 30, 2005 at San Dimas Community Hospital San Dimas, California by his and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Daniel was a truck driver by trade. Daniel attended and graduated from Cantwell High School, Montebello, California in 1974. He excelled in football, basketball and track. His senior year as a varsity football player, Daniel was chosen 2nd team All League as a tailback. In basketball at 5 foot 9 inches of height Daniel who had an exceptional vertical leap was a "tough forward to be reckoned with" taller players were amazed that "this guy could jump with the rest of them". In track and field events Daniel competed in the 100 yard dash, the 220 yard dash and 440 yard relay. Daniel's college experience was 2 years at the University of La Verne, La Verne, California where he played 2 years of football and 1 year at Cal. State Los Angeles (no football team). Daniel's favorite college teams were those U.C.L.A. Bruins. He did not care much for the U.S.C. Trojans. Favorite Pro-Basketball team was the Showtime L.A. Lakers. Favorite Pro-football teams were first the San Francisco 49ers followed by Da Raiders. He would cheer for whoever was having a better year. Daniel is survived by his father Ruben (Little Hoover) mother Mary and brother Rudy (wife Mary) of Las Cruces. Sisters Rachel (Eugene Hill) of Aurora Colorado, Ester (Peter Orona) of Los Angeles, California, Blanche (Ken Halliday) of Ontario, California, and Sandra (Joe Sisneros) of Ukiah, California. Daniel is also survived by many nieces, grandnieces, nephews, grandnephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and so on. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM Thursday, April 7, 2005 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Enrique Lopez Escalera officiating. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A reception will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Pit Stop Caf
