David A. Webb, 56, of Las Cruces, NM, went to be with his Heavenly Father August 10, 2016. David was born on July 30, 1960 in Alamogordo, NM. At age 3, his family moved to Houston where he lived until he was 15. His family then relocated to Las Cruces where he has lived for over 40 years. David attended Mayfield High School and New Mexico State University. He worked in several occupations throughout his life, but most enjoyed his landscaping and pond-building business. He also worked diligently on his wood-carving projects, which gave him great pleasure. David was a lover of animals and could never turn away a stray or abandoned pet. His constant companions over the last several years have been his dogs Eden and Riloh, both of whom he adopted when he found them abandoned in the desert. David enjoyed Saturday night role-play gaming with his friends, and weekly bowling leagues. He was an excellent bowler. At just age 15 he bowled a 280 game, and continued bowling high scores for many years, until a knee injury sidelined his league play. He loved Star Wars, Star Trek, science fiction, super heroes, video games, and movies of all kinds. He is remembered as a loving, loyal and generous friend to all who knew him. David is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Madgelene Webb, grandparents Opal and William A. Webb, and grandparents Maude Penninger and William J. Kimball. He is survived by his sister, Rose King and husband Charles of Friendswood, TX; niece Elizabeth Hegi, her husband John, and their children Maverick and Natalie, all of Pearland, TX. He is also survived by his favorite aunt, Mildred Bolton and his uncle, Lloyd Bolton of Godley, TX; his uncle Jerry Kimball of California; several cousins, and many good friends. Visitation will be at Getz Funeral Home Tuesday morning, August 16, from 9-10 a.m. A celebration of life memorial service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 11 a.m. David would encourage his friends and family members to adopt or foster a homeless pet, or support a local no-kill animal shelter.
