Deanda Lynn Grooms, 25, of Las Cruces died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. She was born Feb. 4, 1981 in Crailshiem, Germany to Rudy J. Pena Jr. and Robin Pinney. Deanda loved quiet time and riding horses but her passion was working with children. She will be forever missed by all her family and many friends who loved her. Deanda Lynn Grooms, 25, of Las Cruces died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. She was born Feb. 4, 1981 in Crailshiem, Germany to Rudy J. Pena Jr. and Robin Pinney. Deanda loved quiet time and riding horses but her passion was working with children. She will be forever missed by all her family and many friends who loved her. She was a loving wife and mother, and is survived by her loving husband of 6 years William Grooms and by her 2 beautiful children Billy and Andie all of the family home; father Rudy J. Pena Jr. and wife Diana of Albuquerque, NM and her mother Robin Crutchley of Florida; brothers Nicholas, Erik, Kevin all of Albuquerque, NM and Laurence of Las Cruces; sisters Crystal of Tampa, FLA, Kassi of Las Cruces and Candice and husband Adam of Dexter, NM; mother and father-in-law Cindy and William Grooms; grandparents Rudy and Viola Pena Sr; Dave and Phyllis Romero and Lee and Rachael Stuart. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also loved Deanda. Her son Lance Austin Grooms preceded her in death. A visitation will be held from 12 noon till 1PM on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at Getz Funeral home where a celebration of her life will follow at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow her funeral service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of Deanda's family and her friends. PDF Printable Version
