Delia O Carabajal

Delia Carabajal, 76, of Las Cruces, NM left this earth to meet her Heavenly Father in Heaven on March 26, 2014 surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on Dec. 23, 1937 in Hill, NM to Theodoro Carabajal and Maria De Refugio Ordunez Carabajal and was the 14th child out of 17 children. Delia loved cooking and baking her famous Christmas cookies for her family as well as enjoying family gatherings. She loved going on road trips to see family and was very devoted to God and Our Lady of Guadalupe. She always prayed for all of her family and friends. Delia never had children, however she had her beloved parrot "Perriqutio", as well as 88 nephews and nieces that loved her, as well as great and great-great nephews and nieces. Those left to mourn her passing include two sisters, Rosa Rel and Victoria Carabajal, one brother, Alberto Carabajal and a special niece/caregiver Eva Herrera all of Las Cruces, NM as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She will also be missed very much by her parrot (her baby) "Perriqtio". Delia is predeceased by her parents, 6 sisters Margie Cordero, Maria Delgado, Aurelia(Lala) Garcia, Juanita Aldridge, Baby Albina, Baby Linda and 7 brothers Monico, Ramon, Jose, Eugenio, Freddie Carabajal, Baby Ramon, Baby Angel as well as several nephews and nieces. Visitation for Delia will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Getz Funeral Home. A memorial Mass will be on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Health Church, 1178 N. Mesquite with the Augustinian Recollects officiating, she will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery.
