Delton Artie Cantrell Jr., 61 of Garfield New Mexico passed away on June 11, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born January 4, 1952 in T. or C., New Mexico to Delton Cantrell Sr. and Lillian Rutledge. He attended T.or C. High School. He was married October 1, 1971 to Debra J. Doitchinoff in Gila, New Mexico Delton was employed at Rosedale Dairy, and the Chino Mines for 24 years, and a teacher and evangelist and Pastor of Artesia Church of God, and Garfield Pentecostal Holiness Church and Arrey Community Church. Delton enjoyed singing and playing music with Artie and Girl Country and Crystal River Band and was involved in prison ministry. He was a youth pastor to hundreds, and wrote playes, skits, music, built numerous complete sound systems across the state. He also built beautiful musical instruments, such as guitars, drums, and wind instruments. Delton also loved hunting, fishing and teaching music, in youth camp. Delton was an ordained minister and received numerous awards for world missions, Ywea, and completed college for the ministerial program. Delton is survived by his wife Debra J. Cantrell, Daughter Michele Barrera and her husband Frank; she is also survived by her granddaughters Amber Ruiz and her husband Juan Ruiz, Courtney Barrera, Great-grandson Derrick Kobe Ruiz and Great-granddaughter Danni Elaine Ruiz. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Ronnie McDowell, Harold McDowell, Gordan Cantrell, Lynn Brown, Debbie Larson, Ann Moates, Michael Cantrell, DeWayne Cantrell, and John Gardner, numerous nephews and nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Floyd Snowder and maternal grandmother Grace Snowder and his father Delton Cantrell Sr. Visitation for Delton will be 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday June 15, 2013 at Garfield Pentecostal Holiness Church in Garfield, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. A reception will follow immediately after the services in Pentecostal Holiness Fellowship Hall in Garfield. Graveside services will be on Monday June 17, 2013 at 10:00 am at Woodbine Cemetery in Artesia, New Mexico. PDF Printable Version
