Send Flowers Dereld Gray Quillin May 17, 1952 - March 23, 2016 Dereld Gray Quillin, an American businessman, entrepreneur, and adventurer passed away in Istanbul, Turkey on March 23, 2016, aged 63. He was based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the time of his passing. Dereld was born in Ft. Worth, Texas to Doyle and Virginia Quillin and had one sibling, Rhonda. Dereld graduated from Andress High School in El Paso and earned a bachelor's degree in business from UTEP, an MBA from Southeast Missouri State, and completed doctoral work at Texas Tech. Dereld worked, lectured, and traveled throughout the world, particularly in Latin America, Southern Africa, and the Middle East. He was a great anglophile and spent as much time as possible in England. He was a member of London's Johnson Society and was a Companion of the Chalice Well. Dereld had worked for KBR in Iraq for the past 12 years. Dereld is survived by his wife, Dedri, of Las Cruces, son Bryce, daughter-in-law Jessica, and grandson Ramsay of Washington DC, and his first wife Sally of Las Cruces. Memorial services will be organized in the United Kingdom at a later date.
