Richard "Dick" Cole, 64 of Las Cruces died Wednesday January 4, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born January 17, 1941 in Batavia, NY to Merle D. and Dorothy Cole. Mr. Cole owned and operated Dick's Barbershop on Lohman Ave. for many years. It is remembered by customers as dick and George's where lots of tall fishing stories were told. Dick had a kind heart especially for the homeless.He also had a love for animals. He is survived by his wife Doris. One daughter Dennean Marie Dyer and husband Grant, two grandsons Andrew and Alexander, all of Las Cruces. He is also survived by two brothers William Cole and wife Barbara of Rochester, NY and Alan Cole and wife Patty of Wadsworth, NY and by numerous Nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Sunday January 8, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday January 9, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow the service and a private family interment will be held. Officiating will be Dr. Frank Zamora. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
