Donald L. Wiggs, 86 of Las Cruces, New Mexico died Friday June 18, 2010. He was born on January 23, 1924 in Struble, Iowa to Lewis and Nellie Wiggs. During WWII Donald honorably served his country with the United States Navy, receiving the American Area-Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. Donald L. Wiggs, 86 of Las Cruces, New Mexico died Friday June 18, 2010. He was born on January 23, 1924 in Struble, Iowa to Lewis and Nellie Wiggs. During WWII Donald honorably served his country with the United States Navy, receiving the American Area-Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He reenlisted into the reserves at Ames, Iowa on 06-NOV-1946 to serve four years. He would later work and retire from White Sands Missile Range. Don enjoyed walking the mall watching all the people shopping, meeting friends for morning coffee at Rexal Drug and playing card at the Arid Club. Don was a devoted Catholic and a Member at St. Genevieve's, he would sing with the choir at Mass on Saturday and the Spanish Choir Sunday mornings at 8:00 AM and always helped the kids in School at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral and raised money for them by helping with bingo. Donald is survived by his daughter, Mary Wiggs of Las Cruces, NM, Brothers, Mike O. Wiggs of Sioux City, IA, Merrill D. Wiggs of Sloan, IA.
