Donald Eugene Noe, 85, a beloved long-time resident of Las Cruces, passed away peacefully in hospice on Monday, October 17, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Patricia, children John (Nicole) and Susanne (Craig), and grandchildren Colten, Caden and Cannon. Don was a big man with a big heart and fell in love with New Mexico while serving at White Sands Missile Range where he worked on Nike Hercules rockets. He attended NMSU, attaining a Bachelor's degree in Education and a Masters in Educational Administration. His lifelong career in education began as a teacher at Mayfield High School. He went on to become vice principal of Hobbs High School and then principal of Las Cruces High School. His profound dedication to his staff and students helped to create an educational environment that was recognized across the state and beyond. Not content to sit idly in retirement, he returned to teaching for many more years at Desert Pride in Gadsden and Franklin High School, located in El Paso. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice.
