Don was born in Kansas City, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School (KS) and Baker University (KS). Donald Pugh, 81, of Las Cruces, NM passed away on June 24th, 2023 surrounded by his family. Don was born in Kansas City, KS and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School (KS) and Baker University (KS). Don served in the Kansas National Guard and was called to US Army active duty during the Vietnam War. Following a successful career in insurance underwriting while living in Kansas and later Missouri, Don and his wife, Marilyn, moved to Las Cruces, NM. Don was known by all for his love of Barbeque and brought home many ribbons and trophies throughout his competition days. Retired from business and barbeque competitions, Don was often behind one of his many grills smoking, grilling or experimenting to the delight of his family.
Don was proceeded in death by his father Donald Pugh and mother Rosemary Pugh Ambrose and brother Larry Pugh. Don is survived by his loving family, wife Marilyn (58 years) Las Cruces, NM, sisters Patricia Dedrick Branson, MO and Linda Lerner (Dave) Fairway, KS, sons Eric Pugh (Katherine) Las Cruces and Matt Pugh (Kelly) Olathe, KS, grandchildren Sydney Martin (AJ) Overland Park, KS, Dylan Pugh Olathe, KS, and Felicia Pugh Las Cruces, NM and great-granddaughter Brady Martin, Overland Park, KS
