Doris Jo Black

Doris Jo Black, 78, of Hatch,NM went to be with her heavenly father Wednesday, March 27, 2013. She was born March 11, 1935 in St. Louis, OK to Carl and Strelsa Daniels Lancaster. Doris was a faithful member of the Church of Christ speaking and spreading the word of god at many Christian Women Seminars around the world. She was a writer, having published two books and co-authored another. She had a great sense of humor, a love for life and a good friend to all, but her passion was for her grandchildren. Mrs. Black will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Jack Black of the family home; daughters Karen Kelly and husband Mark of Salt Lake City, UT, Karla Lack and husband Douglas of Rincon, NM, Becky Andon and husband George of Austin, TX and Jacque Maphet and husband Greg of George Town, TX; brother Buddy Lancaster and wife Linda of Cypress, CA. Also surviving her are her 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, and granddaughter Melissa Lack. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Hatch, NM with Pastor Danny McKinney. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery also in Hatch. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Greg Maphet, George Andon, Mark Kelly, Douglas, James and Steven Lack.
