Dorothy W. Tuma, 94, of Las Cruces died Tuesday, September 05, 2006 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. Dorothy was born on October 19, 1911 in Marshaltown, Iowa to Charles and Caroline Reid. Dorothy W. Tuma, 94, of Las Cruces died Tuesday, September 05, 2006 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. Dorothy was born on October 19, 1911 in Marshaltown, Iowa to Charles and Caroline Reid. Dorothy was well known throughout the art world for her wonderful watercolor paintings. Where many people saw an old church or hot landscape Dorothy saw a beautiful painting in the making. Dorothy is survived by one son Frank R. Tuma and wife Lenore of Las Cruces, one Daughter Sestra E. Brown of Los Angeles, California, Eight grand children Jamie Parks, Melba Ramos, Joyce Aranda, Henry Magallanez, Jessie Giron, Nancy Montoya, Debra Tuffner and husband Paul, and Ron Brown, Ten great-grandchildren Ella, Loraine, Jacob, Ben, Jassim, Laila, Omar, Marisa, Mathew, and Anton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Tuma, parents Charles and Caroline Reid, and two sisters Helen Mc Donough, and Verla Hall. A memorial service will be held at 7PM on Friday, September 8, 2006, at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Jerry Lundeen. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice at 299 Montana Av., Las Cruces, NM, 88005. PDF Printable Version
