Edward Paul Bedy, a husband, father and grandfather passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the age of 82 at his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico Ed was born on April 16th, 1930 to first generation Slovakian immigrants, Joseph and Hazel Bedy in Forrest City, Pennsylvania. He served his country for over 20 years in the U. S. Army and retired in 1967 as Sergeant First Class Edward Paul Bedy, and a Veteran of the Korean War. He spent from 1967 to 1993 working for the Physical Science Laboratory at New Mexico State University on the NASA Sounding Rocket Program, Department of Defense Programs, and the United States first private endeavor into outer space. From 1993 to 2013 Ed continued to work as a credentialed and respected consultant in the aerospace community. He never retired from a career he loved. Ed was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Hazel Bedy, his sister Mary, and his brothers George and Joe. He is survived by his wife Wendy; his sons David Paul (Sara) Bedy, Jamie (Jolene) Wood; his daughters Stacie (Chad) Miller and Michelle (Chris) Bedy; grandchildren Brittany, Shelby, Jack, Eddie, Elijah and Kadence. Ed is also survived by a large loving extended family in Velke Zaluzia, Slovakia that has been so gracious to him. Staying connected to his father's roots was one of Ed's few passions in life and we are eternally thankful to Anna Badendieck Newton for being so vital in nurturing the connection to his past Services will be held at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, 518 N Alameda Ave., Las Cruces, NM 88005 on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Canon Dr. Scott Ruthven, D.
