Efren Silva Rodriguez Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Sunday August 5, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family. Efren was born on June 18, 1932 in Mesquite, NM to Hilario and Maria Rodriguez. Efren Silva Rodriguez Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Sunday August 5, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family. Efren was born on June 18, 1932 in Mesquite, NM to Hilario and Maria Rodriguez. He is survived by his loving wife Rosa Rodriguez and 9 children, Roseanne Rodriguez, Efren Rodriguez Jr., Gilbert Rodriguez, Rita Rodriguez, Monica Calderon, Jake Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez, Greg Rodriguez, and Johnny Rodriguez, 26 Grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and 6 sisters. Efren is preceded in death by his parents Hilario and Maria Rodriguez, a brother Alejandro Rodriguez and a son Alfred Rodriguez. He will be missed by all who knew him. He had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. He always enjoyed sharing his life experiences. He loved spending time with family and friends, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He was a skilled cement finisher and was very proud of all his accomplishments. He was part of many construction projects that included NMSU, Wells Fargo Towers, White Sands Missile Range and the surrounding areas. He was also a member of the Laborers Local Union 16 and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Bulls. A viewing will begin at 5 pm at Getz Funeral home Friday, August 10, 2018 with the rosary to follow at 6:30 pm.
