Elisa P. Morales, 89, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006. She was born April 15, 1916 in Fierro, New Mexico to Miguel and Marcella Padilla. Her many joys in life were babysitting for her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Elisa P. Morales, 89, of Las Cruces, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006. She was born April 15, 1916 in Fierro, New Mexico to Miguel and Marcella Padilla. Her many joys in life were babysitting for her grandchildren and spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons; Felipe Morales and wife Mary, Manuel Morales and wife Lydia and Ramon Morales all of Las Cruces; daughter Pauline Morales of Las Cruces; brother Benny Padilla of Las Cruces; sister Rosa Alvarez of Las Cruces; grandchildren Eddie and Patricia and numerous others; great-grandson Robert and numerous others. She is also survived by her son-in-law Edwardo Salaiz of Las Cruces and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Elisa was preceded in death by her husband Elias Morales, her parents, daughter Victoria Salaiz, son Lupe Morales, sisters Lorenza Carreon and Amalia Lopez and by her brother Clemente. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. The funeral mass is at 10:00 AM on Monday, Jan. 23, 2006 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Moreno officiating. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Steven Morales, Manuel Morales Jr., Johnny Limon, Paul Soto, Pancho Morales, and Robert Elias Salaiz. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Albillar, Alfred Limon, Robert Paynter Jr., Philip Morales Jr., and Eddie "Lalo" Salaiz. A special thanks goes out to the staff of Mesilla Valley Hospice and to Lydia and Lisa for the wonderful and loving care shown to Mrs. Morales. PDF Printable Version
