Elizabeth A Rios (Gerry), from Las Cruces, passed away on Saturday (11/18/23). She was born in 1939 in Albuquerque, NM but lived most of her life here in Las Cruces. She graduated from Albuquerque High in 1957. Elizabeth met Jesus Rios in Albuquerque, married and were together for 44 years before death parted them in 2011.

Elizabeth A Rios (Gerry), from Las Cruces, passed away on Saturday (11/18/23). She was born in 1939 in Albuquerque, NM but lived most of her life here in Las Cruces. She graduated from Albuquerque High in 1957. Elizabeth met Jesus Rios in Albuquerque, married and were together for 44 years before death parted them in 2011.

Elizabeth and Jesus raised 5 girls, Yvone Clina, Joanne Aguilar, Jeanette Finell, Maureen Cooper, and Geraldine Rios, Son-in-laws, Dusty Clina, Harb Harding, Irl Finnel, and Jimmy Cooper.   They have 12 grandchildren, Vicky, Jacky, Elizabeth, Herbie, Sara, Anthony, Jesika, Amanda, Joshua, James, Tyson, and Jonathan. And were also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ashley, Gabriel, Lindsey, Herbie, Hunter, Oliver, Aurora, Aiden, Lyne and two on the way. Nieces/Nephews Cindy, Sandy, Greg, Angela, Brian, Colette, Elaine, Curtis, Shaun, Thomas, Ricky, David, and Debbie.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Frank, and her beloved sister Flora. She is survived by her sisters Barbara and Patricia and her brother Frank.

Her favorite memory was picking green chili for their delicious enchiladas with her beloved sister Flo with whom she will happily join in the afterlife. She had many memorable stories of her friends Annabelle and Frances. She loved being with her children and grandchildren and living in Las Cruces with the beautiful Organ Mountains. She liked camping and loved travelling to visit family.

The Visitation will begin at 5pm, followed by the Rosery at 7 pm on November 30, 2023, at Getz’s Funeral Home.

The Mass will be held at Basilica of San Abino in old Mesilla at 11 am on December 1, 2023, followed by the graveside services at Hillcrest Memorial. Pallbearers Jimmy, Joshua, Jonathan, Dusty, Irl, and Herbie.
