Ella Virginia Winter passed peacefully at home in Las Cruces, New Mexico on February 19, 2014. She began her life on October 21st, 1920 in South Carolina. After graduating from high school she attended nursing school and was later employed by the United States Public Health Service. Virginia worked around the country and later was stationed at Fort Stanton, New Mexico. There, she met and married Paul Winter in 1947. The couple moved to Albuquerque in 1948 where she continued her work as a nurse at. Virginia and Paul immediately started a family in Albuquerque; Virginia soon gave birth to three children, Rob, and twins, Penny and Bradley. Virginia was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a caring, selfless and gifted nurse. Virginia loved sewing, decorating for the holidays and spending weekends in the Jemez Mountains at the family cabin. She loved spending time at her children's sporting and dance events. After the passing of her husband Paul in 2002, Virginia moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico with her daughter Penny. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Paul and eldest son Rob and her three brothers. She is survived by her daughter Penny and son Bradley, three grandchildren, Ryan, Brock and Brianna Winter. The family will be celebrating her life in a private service and reuniting her with her husband Paul in the Jemez Mountains. PDF Printable Version
