Eloisa V. Ramirez, 91, of Las Cruces, NM was called home to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 29, 2012. She was born April 22, 1920 in El Paso, TX to Agapito and Librada Bonilla Viescas. Mrs. Ramirez was a devoted wife and mother, respected by all of her family and friends for her unselfish love, never ending compassion, generosity and strong family values. She had been a member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Eloisa enjoyed her visits with her visits with her nieces, nephews and friends, reading, sewing, animals, and was a Presidents Club Avon Representative. At an early age she willingly cared for her nephews, whom she dearly loved like they were her own children. Mrs. Ramirez always had a smile and a lot of love for her family and many friends who will forever love and miss her. She is survived by her daughter Liz Ramirez Lopez and husband Edward who Eloisa loved like a son; nephews, who were raised like sons, Henry Apodaca and wife Julia of El Paso, TX and David Apodaca and wife Lupe of Las Cruces. Also surviving her are her grandchildren Michael, Patrick and Lorena Apodaca all of Las Cruces, Sylvia of San Antonio, TX; Henry J., and Tony Apodaca of El Paso, TX and brother Agapito (Agy) Viescas of Watauga, TX; great-grand children Joshua, Jason, Jeramiah, Annalis, Nicholas, Kayla, Kristen, and Emily Apodaca. Eloisa was preceded in death by her husband Daniel V. Ramirez; sister Antonia (Toni) Apodaca and by her brothers Albert (Beto), Epimenio (Harry) and Arturo (Tudy) Viescas. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. William Baker and Mesilla Valley Hospice for all of their wonderful care and compassion. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday April 3, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. Her funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10 am on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be at Masonic Cemetery. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Michael Apodaca, Patrick Apodaca, Henry J. Apodaca, Tony Apodaca, Joshua Apodaca and Jason Apodaca. Honorary pallbearers will be PDF Printable Version
