Emilia Fajardo, 89, of Hatch, NM died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007. She was born Nov. 25, 1918 in Hatch, NM to Daniel and Ramulda Benavidez Fajardo. Emilia spent her youth working and retirement years in Hatch at the family farm. She worked at the Hatch Variety Store and at the Hatch Mercantile until her retirement in 1984. Emilia Fajardo, 89, of Hatch, NM died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007. She was born Nov. 25, 1918 in Hatch, NM to Daniel and Ramulda Benavidez Fajardo. Emilia spent her youth working and retirement years in Hatch at the family farm. She worked at the Hatch Variety Store and at the Hatch Mercantile until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed baking and canning fruits and vegetables that were grown on the family farm. She kept herself busy but always found time to enjoy her nephews and nieces. The family farm was sold and in 2003 she moved to Las Cruces. Emilia is survived by her two brothers, Geronimo B. Fajardo of Las Cruces and Tomas B. Fajardo and wife Eva of Tucson, AZ, one sister Rumalda B. Fajardo of Las Cruces and by many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Miguel, Juan and Albino Fajardo, three sisters, Salome Fajardo, Josephina Marquez and Isabel F. Hernandez. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home. Emilia's cremains will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, NM also on Monday at 3:30 PM. PDF Printable Version
