Emily Jean Glover

Emily Jean Glover passed away Feb. 21, 2007 in Muskogee, OK. She was born Dec. 16, 1914 to Lon and Ruby Cardwell in Fredrick, OK. Jean was preceded in death in 1987 by her husband of 52 years, George T. Glover, daughter, Donna Glover, her parents and her pet poodle companion of 17 years, "Sugar". Jean and George came to Las Cruces in 1946 and operated Glover Plumbing Co. and Glover Construction Co. In 1967 they moved to Oklahoma where they established several businesses. Jean was a woman of many talents. She never had a piano lesson but could play her favorite tunes by ear. Jean was known for her love of people. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and a passion for a good card game. She is survived by three sons, Jack Glover and wife Virginia, Paul Glover and wife Cindy all of Muskogee, Rex Glover and wife Irma Lupita of Las Cruces, two sisters, Inez Smith of Phoenix and Gladys Keating of Albuquerque, NM, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her friend and caregiver, Linda Blankenship of Muskogee. Jean will be remembered as a very caring, intelligent and independent woman. As she grew older and had to rely on others for assistance, she made sure to let everyone know how much she loved and appreciated them. She will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home with graveside services to follow at 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth of First Baptist Church officiating. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held Saturday, Feb. 24th in Muskogee, OK. PDF Printable Version
