Emma Lee Young was born December 19, 1928, in Marshall, TX and passed peacefully at home in Las Cruces, NM on December 5, 2021, two weeks shy of her 93rd birthday. She was preceded in glory by her parents, Rev. Z.O. Young and Kathernyn Litzler Young; her sisters, Louise King and Jane McPherson; her brother, Dr. Z.O. Young, Jr.; and her husband, William S. Carver. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Hudgens of Los Lunas, NM; her brother, Donald Young of Decatur, TX; her daughters Barbara Robinson of Chehalis, WA and Darby Funk of Mosca, CO; and her son Daniel Carver of Las Cruces, NM. She has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren to carry on her legacy of love and faith. Emma worked many years in a variety of capacities, including as assistant manager of Santa Fe Self Storage, department supervisor of J. C. Penny's in Albuquerque, and co-owner of Plaway Laundry. She devoted her life to her family and her Lord, and we look forward to being reunited in heaven as we each reach the number of our days. The family wishes to thank Kindred Hospice for the excellent care and support we have received during the last 9 months. Because of them she was able to stay at home. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 28 from 1-3 PM. There will be no formal service because of the 5-hour drive for Emma to be laid to rest with her husband at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
