Enrique F. Avalos, 87 of Mesquite, NM died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010. Henry as he was fondly known was born July 15, 1923 in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Trinidad and Ramona Flores Avalos. Enrique F. Avalos, 87 of Mesquite, NM died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010. Henry as he was fondly known was born July 15, 1923 in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Trinidad and Ramona Flores Avalos. He was retired from New Mexico State University after many years of faithful service. Henry loved to go the senior citizens center to listen to music and for the dancing, but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years Simona Avalos of the family home; sons Benito Avalos, Enrique Avalos Jr. and wife Belinda and Jose Luis Avalos and wife Mariela; daughters Dolores Williams and husband Michael, Ramona Padilla and husband Pablo, Martha Silva and husband Frank, Rosa Reyes and husband Raul and Ana Maria and companion Gonzalo; sisters Tomasita Cereceres and Carmen Acosta; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Henry was preceded in death by his 1st wife Juliana; sisters Maria Ontiveros and Santiaga Dominguez; and by and brothers Jesus, Encarnacion and Avelino. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, Sept.20, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 pm. Henry's funeral mass is at 10 am on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at the San Pedro Mission in Del Cerro, NM with Fr. Juan Moreno officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Missionary Ridge Cemetery in Mesquite, NM. The honor of being a pallbearer is given to his grandsons. PDF Printable Version
