Enrique "Henry" Alvarez, 75, of Las Cruces, NM went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2021. Henry was born December 1, 1946, to Maria R. Alvarez. Henry served his Country Honorably in the United States Marine Corps, where he was awarded The Silver Star Medal for demonstrating valor in combat during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, Henry made his life in Las Cruces with his beloved wife Terry, raised his family with pride, and always made them his priority. Henry enjoyed his life outdoors; hunting, working on his yard and home, coaching and playing softball; where many would come to know him as "Coach". When he was not spending time outdoors, he spent his time with family (his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren), doing family dinners, traveling to Las Vegas, supporting the Aggies basketball, and playing bingo. Henry is survived by his wife, Teresa Alvarez of Las Cruces, NM; One son and three daughters, Roberta Lopez, Christine (spouse Blu) Riedemann, Henry (spouse Janelle) Alvarez of Las Cruces, NM and Maurice Alvarez of Albuquerque, NM. Grandchildren Isaac Alvarez, Andrea (spouse Robert) Hannah, Tiffani Alvarez, Audrielle and Andrew Alvarez. Great-grandchildren, Aubree and Abraham Alvarez. He is also survived by his Aunt Dominga Valenzuela. Henry was preceded in death of his mother Maria R. Alvarez, grandmother Amelia Lucero, uncle Albert Lucero and aunt Nicanora Giron. Funeral services for Henry will begin at 10 AM (10 am: Eulogy, 10:30 am: Rosary, 11-11:15: Mass) Thursday, January 6, 2022, at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church at 100 S Espina, Las Cruces, NM with Father Theo officiating the services. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, where his ashes will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors.
