We are greatly saddened to announce the passing of our father Ernie C Gonzales. Our Father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, passed away on January 22, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born December 20, 1942 in Santa Rita, NM to Jose Gonzales and Carlota Gonzales.

We are greatly saddened to announce the passing of our father Ernie C Gonzales. Our Father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, passed away on January 22, 2024 at the age of 81. He was born December 20, 1942 in Santa Rita, NM to Jose Gonzales and Carlota Gonzales.
Our father Ernie graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1961. He was a fierce Las Cruces High School Bulldog and often attended the football games and tail gating to cheer at the Bulldog and Trojan rivalry games.. He retired from the Dona Ana County Detention Center. Our father had a great passion for music. He was a musician most of his life and a proud member of several popular bands in Las Cruces. To name a few, he was a vocalist for the Majestics, Sangria and the Latin Machine. He was so loved and remembered by many in his home town of Las Cruces. Fiercely loved by his family.
Our father Ernie is preceded in death by his sister Dora Garcia, sister Rosa Lee Chavez, his parents Jose P. and Carlota C. Gonzales, grandparents Samuel and Avelina Costales; Jose and Sarah Gonzales; and all his aunts and uncles from the Costales and Gonzales side.
Our father Ernie will be greatly missed by his children, Dee Dee Hendrick/husband Frank Hendrick, Ernie Gonzales Jr/wife Karmen Gonzales.
