On Sunday, July 9, 2017 our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and great friend, Ernest P. On Sunday, July 9, 2017 our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and great friend, Ernest P. Padilla, 49 of Brazito, NM, passed away at Mountain View Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. "Ernie" or "Fats" as he was well known by many. Born on December 25, 1967 in Las Cruces, NM to Paul and Flora Padilla. He graduated with the class of 1985 from Las Cruces High School, he attended and graduated from Universal Technical Institute (UTI) In Phoenix, AZ in 1990. He also graduated and received his Journeyman Electricians Certificate in 2006 from the Independent Electrical Contractors Inc. (IEC) that was affiliated with Doa Ana Community College (DACC). He was a very well-known person, great friend who always lent a helping hand, Ernie gave so much to so many people that he did not expect anything in return. Ernie was jack of all trades, from Mechanic, to a Welder, to Meat cutter and then Electrician. There was no task that Ernie couldn't do. He was always up for a challenge, no matter how big or how small it was. Ernie was an amazing person and had a great sense of humor, he always tried to make people laugh. That was his way of showing how unique, how genuine person he was. Ernie loved fishing, camping, deer hunting with his dad, brothers, and his two older boys. Other survivors include his parents Paul and Flora Padilla, his sister; Bertha Padilla, and his two brothers Paul and Tommy Padilla, two nieces and one nephew as well as his aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, friends, co-workers and school mates. Visitation for Ernest will begin at 5:00pm Monday, July 17, 2017 with a prayer vigil to follow at 7:00pm at Getz funeral Home. The funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 at San Miguel church in San Miguel, NM. Interment will follow at the Missionary Ridge Cemetery in Mesquite, NM. Serving as Pallbearers will be Joshua F Padilla, Anthony L Padilla, Ernest Padilla Jr, Paul Padilla (II), Tommy Padilla, Paul Padilla (III).
