Ernestine "Tini" Barncastle- Bashner, 92, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley entered into Eternal Life on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 21, 1916 in Las Cruces to Antonio and Inez Alvarez Barncastle. She was part of the Catholic Community and was a retired Credit Manager with J.C. Ernestine "Tini" Barncastle- Bashner, 92, lifelong resident of the Mesilla Valley entered into Eternal Life on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 21, 1916 in Las Cruces to Antonio and Inez Alvarez Barncastle. She was part of the Catholic Community and was a retired Credit Manager with J.C. Penny's after many years of faithful service. Ernestine will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children Henry "Pingo" Diaz and wife Connie of Las Cruces, Rudy Diaz and wife Becky of Albuquerque, NM, Fred "Squeeky" Bashner and wife Lorraine of Tucson, AZ, Rosella Prieto and husband Nahum of El Paso, TX, Stella Torres and husband Angel Jr. of Las Cruces and Pat Rogers and husband Fred of Los Lunas, NM. Also surviving her are her 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents in 1958, her two grandsons and brothers and sisters. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 at St. Genevieve's Catholic church with Fr. Juan Moreno officiating. Rite of Committal is at San Jose Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be members Ernestine's family. PDF Printable Version
