Our dear and beloved husband, Dad, and Grandpa, Esmael A. "Billy" Nevarez, 70, passed away at his home on Tuesday March 23, 2010. Surrounded by his loving family. Billy as he was fondly known but his friends and family, is survived by his wife 39 years Elena "Helen" Nevarez, children Eileen Arvizu "Mark", Grace Telles "Ruben", Frankie Nevarez "Cynthia". Surviving children also include Adam Nevarez, Mary Stella, Vilma, and Abby. Surviving sisters include Dominga Flores, Ramona Benevidez, Eloisa Cardon, and Virginia Gieser, one great granddaughter, numerous grandchildren, one on the way, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Billy was born in the town of Mesilla, to Miguel and Catarina Nevarez. He dedicated seven years to dancing in Tortugas for the vigil de Guadalupe. He was honorably discharged from the army in 1965, and married his life long partner in 1971. He is to be remembered as a very hard worker and dedicated provider for his family. He worked for most of this life for a well-known business at the time called "Nevarez Bros" as a heavy equipment operator, as well as did escort driving for "Southwest Escort" traveling the surrounding southwest region. He enjoyed John Wayne and Roy Roger movies, and could tell you all about " Little House on The Prairie" and always knew the answers on " The Price is Right". We will truly miss you but are consoled that you are now home. Billy is preceded in death by his sons Billy Boy and Gabriel Nevarez and mother Catarina Nevarez. Serving as casket bearers will be his son-in-law Ruben Telles, brother-in-law Jessie Molina and grandkids Adam Nevarez, Nathan Hollars, Jacob Nevarez and nephew Nick Rosales. Honorary Casket bearers include his son-in-law Mark Arvizu and other honoraries will be the Rosales family. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7:00 pm. Billy's funeral mass is at 10:00 am on Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Moreno officiating. Rite of Committal will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
