Estella Aranda Guzman went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM. Estella was born November 29, 1929, to Roman and Isabel Parra Aranda and was raised by Roman and Rosa Provencio Aranda in Mesilla, NM. She was born-again in Christ Jesus on November 25, 1985, in Orange Cove, California. Estella retired from the Las Cruces Public Schools Cafeteria in 1991 and has since enjoyed being with and serving her family with wisdom, great care, boundless strength and delicious cooking. She put her trust in the Lord Jesus and always prayed for her children through many difficult circumstances. She was a true "prayer warrior." She believed in family unity. After raising her children, she made great contributions to the raising of her grandchildren. Estella was greatly loved by her family and friends who will never forget her beautiful smile, charming demeanor, constant loyalty and engaging sense of humor. Estella will never leave her loved one's hearts. Survivors are: her husband of 56 years Felipe G. Guzman, sons Paul and wife Kim, Felipe Jr., Edward and Gary and wife Lydia Guzman, one daughter MaryAnn Sewell and husband Daniel, twelve grandchildren Matthew, Natalie, Savannah, Christal, Estella, Phillip, Dominic and Brianna Guzman, Analise Mayers and husband Brian, Priscilla Murrillo, Jovanna Diaz and husband Mario, and Jarod Guzman Sewell, six great-grandchildren Jason Tavarez, Steven Murrillo, Jazmin Diaz, Julian Mayers, Nevaeh and Esela Antillon. She is also survived by brothers Raymundo, Roman II, and wife Frances Aranda, sisters Eleanor Estrada, Rumalda Herrera and many nieces and nephews. Estella was preceded in death by her brothers Gregorio, Benjamin, Joe and Buenaventura Arando, her parents Roman, Isabel and Rosa Aranda, her father and mother-in-law Vicente and Victoria Guzman. A visitation will be held October 23, 2006 from 5-7 PM at Getz Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held October 24, 2006 at 1 PM at the Sierra Vista Community Church with Pastor Ruben Ortega officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
