Eva was born September 2, 1922 in Las Cruces, NM to Maria Grijalva Barrio and Alfredo Barrio. She was a member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church and Las Esperanzas. With deep sorrow, we announce that Eva Estella Barrio Garvey passed away December 1, 2016 at La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice. Eva was born September 2, 1922 in Las Cruces, NM to Maria Grijalva Barrio and Alfredo Barrio. She was a member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church and Las Esperanzas. Eva retired from Memorial General Hospital after 22 years, where she had been an insurance and Medicare specialist. Eva had many hobbies, pottery, gardening and avid reader, crossword enthusiast. She was a great cook and all relatives remember her delicious meatballs and spaghetti and beef stew. Survivors include her sister Gloria Barrio Gonzales, Eva's children: daughters, Linda Maria Amezquita and Patricia Guerrasio and husband Dominic and her son Thomas Paul Garvey and wife Jodie. Grandchildren Mario Ragazzone, Veronica Bulla, Yolanda Bacon, Dominic Guerrasio, Jr., Nicole Guerrasio Manning, Damon Guerrasio, Marisa Garvey, Valerie Garvey, Bernadette Garvey Tirre and Micaela Garvey. Seventeen great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her husband Thomas James Garvey and son Michael John Garvey. Brothers Luis, Conrado, Guillermo (Wille), Guadalupe (Lupo), David, Samuel, Alfredo (Chapo), Francisco (Frankie) and sister Elfida, Christina, Piedad and Petra.
