Ola Faye Mahres, 90, of Las Cruces, entered eternal rest Friday, February 24, 2012, at Home Hospice in Odessa, Texas, surrounded by her family. Faye was born March 2, 1921 in Henrietta, TX to B.K. Neely and Bernice Henderson Neely. At the age of 2, Faye and her family moved to La Mesa, NM. After graduating from Union High School in Anthony, Faye attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX and New Mexico A&M. In August 1940, Faye married Arthur "Ed" Mahres. She worked in the insurance business, along with Ed for many years. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Las Cruces, where she played the piano for her Sunday school department and sang in the choir. In her retirement, Faye enjoyed playing golf, as well as traveling with Ed in their RV. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, ED, Parents, B.K. and Bernice Neely, brothers Kenneth Neely and Floyd Neely. She is survived by her daughter Carol Parker and husband Charles of Odessa, TX, son Lonnie Mahres and wife, Nadine of Las Cruces. Grandchildren, Jason Parker and wife Angela of Odessa, TX, Eric Parker and wife Audra, of Midland, TX, Miles Mahres and wife Kelly of Las Cruces, NM. Great grandchildren, Courtney and Logan Parker of Odessa, TX., Chloe and Kayden Parker of Midland, TX., Connor and Natalie Mahres of Las Cruces, NM. Brother Harold Neely and wife Donna of Lancaster, Ohio numerous nieces and nephews and her special dog, Nickey. Visitation will be from 6pm to 7pm, Wednesday February 29, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00am, Thursday March 1, 2012 at Getz Funeral Home, with Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth officiating. Interment will be at Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Charles Parker, Jason Parker, Eric Parker, Logan Parker, Miles Mahres and Travis Long. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Home Hospice 516 N.
