Flora P. Padilla October 26, 1943 - December 15, 2022 Our beautiful mother Flora P. Padilla has gone to rest with our heavenly father on the morning of Thursday, December 15th, 2022. She was loving, compassionate, and kind inside and out. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She prayed to God everyday including the Santos nightly. Flora was born on October 26th, 1943 in Las Cruces, N.M. at Memorial General Hospital room 205. Flora worked at Memorial General Hospital in the late 1950's as a Candy Striper, and later in the 1970's as an EEG Technician retiring in 2004. Flora was well known for her baking. She baked cakes, cookies, and chocolates for any occasions for family and friends. Her hobby's included water coloring, growing and planting a variety of herbs, and veggies, she loved to sew and make clothes. Flora loved to cook with all her heart and trying new recipes. Flora is survived by her loving husband of 58 years; Paul M. Padilla, her only daughter, Bertha Padilla, her two Sons, Paul L. Padilla and Thomas "Tommy" Padilla, her brothers, Juan Perez (wife, Josie Perez) and Carlos "Charlie" Gomez II. Her grandchildren Melissa Padilla, Priscilla Padilla, Policarpio "Little Paul" Paul Padilla, Joshua F. Padilla, Anthony L. Padilla and Ernie Padilla Jr. Her great grandchildren, Drevan Padilla-Martinez, Angel Kairi Miranda Padilla, Malina Lee and her nieces. (Ernie) Padilla, and nephews Daniel Clark, Hector Clark, and Carlos "Little Charlie" Gomez III. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina St. Las Cruces, NM 88001 on December 21st, 2022. Her viewing will be at 9:30am following her Rosary at 10:30am and Mass at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph's Cemetery (across the street from St. Genevieve's). Pallbearers will be Paul L. Padilla, Thomas "Tommy" Padilla, Policarpio "Little Paul" Paul Padilla, Joshua F. Padilla, Anthony L. Padilla, and Ernie Padilla Jr. and Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul M. Padilla and Bertha Padilla.
