Florence C. Dougil, 90, of Las Cruces, NM, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 after a year long struggle to regain her health. Florence (Flo) was born on December 3, 1927 in Exeter, PA to Joseph B. & Helen Pobutkiewicz. Florence married Edward J. Dougil on May 11, 1946 and moved to Harrison, NJ where she worked for RCA as an electronic technician. In 1961 the family moved to Phoenix, AZ where she then worked for General Electric as an electronic technician and was also the Commander of the DAV Women's Auxilary. In 1971 the family returned east to live in Larksville, PA, where Florence became an active volunteer ambulance driver and paramedic. Due to her husbands health they returned west in 1973 to Las Cruces, NM where Florence worked for the Physical Science Laboratories (PSL) on the NMSU campus until her retirement. She then became an avid bowler for many years, and like her father she was an artist and loved to draw and paint beautiful pictures. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Helen Pobutkiewicz, her husband Rev. Edward J. Dougil, her son Edward S. Dougil of Thailand, a sister Cecelia, and brothers, Stanley, Joseph, and Leonard. She is survived by her daughters Dolores and Deborah, her grandchildren Jeremy, Jameson and Angela (Las Cruces, NM), Edward and Matthew (WA), plus three great-grandchildren (WA), sister-in-law's Catherine & Rosemarie Pobutkiewicz (PA), as well as niece Linda Pobutkiewicz-Landaeta (TN), 6 nephews, Henry & Jerry Krzeczkowski, Mark, Ken, Randy, Russ, and David Pobutkiewicz (all of PA, NY & NJ). Florence is also survived by many family friends and neighbors who loved her and even called her Mom or Grandma. Florence touched many people throughout her life in many ways and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Florence's wish was to be cremated and interned with her husband of 60 years. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 12th, at 1pm at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church in Dona Ana, NM.
