Florentino Reyes, 67 of Las Cruces, NM died January 31, 2007 at Thomason General Hospital in El Paso, TX. He was born March 12, 1939 in Santa Maria del Oro, Durango, Mexico to Marcos and Maria Reyes. Florentino Reyes, 67 of Las Cruces, NM died January 31, 2007 at Thomason General Hospital in El Paso, TX. He was born March 12, 1939 in Santa Maria del Oro, Durango, Mexico to Marcos and Maria Reyes. He had retired from NMSU as a groundskeeper and maintenance. Florentino was also a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Maria; one daughter, Maria Ponce of Chicago, IL; three sons, Miguel Reyes of Dallas, TX; Florentino Reyes of Juarez, MX; and Carlos Reyes of Albuquerque, NM. Five sisters, Maria de Jesus Guerrero of La Feria, TX; Isabel Jamaica of Chicago, IL; Maria Inez Medina of Chihuahua, MX; Francisco Reyes de Antunez of Juarez, MX, and Josefina Favela of Chicago, IL. Also surviving Florentino are 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. One son, Marcos Reyes, preceded him in death. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, February 2, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home where the Prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 8:30 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Officiating will be Fr. Juan Moreno.
