> It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, Florentino (Tino) Castillo, 88, of Hatch. He went home to his final resting place on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 16, 1923 in Clint, Texas to Domingo and Antonia Castillo. He served in the Army during World War II with the 183rd Field Artillery Battalion. He served in the European Theatre. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon and the Silver Star. Those left to mourn his passing include his wife of 64 years, Susie Castillo; his five (5) children, Danny (Gaby); Bobby Castillo of Las Cruces; Gloria (David) Hernandez of Hatch; Terry (Andy) Apodaca, of Garfield; Michael (Lupe) Castillo of Hatch. His 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Mariano and Nick, his sisters, Juana, Romie, Keta, Nellie, and Mary, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joe and Eugene; his sisters Genoveva and Lorenza. Visitation will be on Friday, October 19th from 6:00-7:00pm at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, New Mexico where a prayer vigil will follow. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday October 20th at 10:00am at the same church. The Right of Commital will follow at the Garden of Memories in Hatch, New Mexico with full Military Honors.
