Father Conrad was born on July 1, 1938 in Lafferty, Ohio. He was the son of the late Conrad Francis Pytlik (deceased) and Helen Ann Namyslowski (deceased). Father Conrad began his studies for the priesthood in September of 1958 at Saint Mary's College in Orchard Lake Michigan. He continued his studies at Saint John Seminary at Plymouth Michigan where he then went to study at El Seminario Conciliar in Mexico City, Colonia Tlalpan, DF. He was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Tulancingo, Hgo Mexico on August 2nd, 1966 at the Santuario de Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles. Father Conrad served in various parishes for the Diocese of Tulancingo, Cuernavaca, Morelos. He returned to the United States in 1978 where he served for the Diocese of Orange County California until 1987. He then transferred to the Diocese of Las Cruces and was assigned to the parish of San Albino in Old Mesilla where he served as pastor for 17 years. He retired due to failing health with two bouts of cancer. He moved to Tucson, Arizona and when health permitted, he would celebrate the Byzantine Divine Liturgy at Saint Melany's Byzantine Catholic Church. Father Conrad was an outdoorsman, avid pilot and would fly his Cherokee plane every chance he had. Father Conrad is survived by one brother, Richard H. Pytlik and his wife Barbara. His two nieces, Melissa and Denise, all of Warren, Michigan. Viewing will be at San Albino Roman Catholic Church on Sunday October 1, 2006 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A prayer vigil will follow at 6:00 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral on Monday October 2, 2006 at 10:00 AM with the Most Reverend Ricardo Ramirez, OSB (Bishop of the Diocese of Ls Cruces) officiating. Concelebrants will be his brother priests. Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date at Saint Francis Columbarium located at Holy Cross Catholic Church where he will be placed to rest with his Matka (Mother).
