Frances L. Davis 96, of Las Cruces, NM passed away at Casa Del Sol on October 7, 2009. She was born on October 19, 1912 to Frank G. Davis and Ruth Christopher Davis in Fort Worth, Texas. She retired from General Dynamics, where she began working during World War II, helping to keep her country secure. Frances is survived by her younger sister Janie Davis Floyd, and the nieces and nephews she loved so much, James D. Floyd, and his wife Nohemi, Guy W. Floyd and his wife Carla, Gregg C. Floyd and his wife Beverly. Great nieces and nephews are: Chris L. Floyd, Janie H. Floyd, Alexandra H. Floyd, Guy Wesley Floyd, Leah Floyd, Jasmine Floyd, John C. Floyd, and James C. Floyd. Other relatives are: Floyd Cox and Carolyn Cox Perry and her husband Fred, Leighann Bigley and her husband Pete, David Ladd Palmore, and Col. Jack D. Beckelman, (Ret). She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Ann Gault and her husband Melvin, her brother in law John W. Floyd, and other relatives, Emma Jo Cox and husband Marvin, and Geraldine Beckelman. Frances was the kindest and most loving person. She loved to see children laughing and playing and there was no limit to her generosity. She was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Las Cruces, and was a life long Dallas Cowboys fan. Her other favorite things were playing cards, and being a member of the Picacho Hills C.C. Bridge Club. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday October 13, 2009 at the Masonic Cemetery with Father Scott Ruthven officiating. Many thanks to all the staff, who loved and cared for her at Village of Northrise Desert Willows and Casa Del Sol.
