Frances Louise Rogers, 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Frances was born November 6, 1918 to Charles and Katherine Shull in Hartford, Kansas. She graduated from Burlington High School, Kansas. She attended Newman Memorial Hospital Nursing School, graduating in 1940 and attended New Mexico State in the 1960's. She married Jack L. Rogers on June 1, 1940. Frances worked as a nurse in Kansas City, KS, Emporia, KS, Belle Fourche, SD., in the infirmary at NMSU, Southwestern General Hospital and Hotel Dieu Hospital in El Paso, TX. While her children were growing up, she stayed at home as a full-time mom. She was a member and Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church in Las Cruces. She is survived by her sons Charles W. Rogers (Patricia) Minneapolis, MN, Jack E. Rogers (Deborah) Ruidoso, NM; daughters Trula E. Holstein (Ben) Las Cruces, Sheila K. Gloer (Hulitt) Waco, TX; brother Charles Shull (Jean) ST. Louis, MO and sister-in-law Janet Wilkenson (John) Tuxedo, NY. Eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Rogers in January 2006, her parents and one brother, Morris Shull. Memorial Services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, September 14, 2007 at First Baptist Church with Frances's son-in-law Dr. Hulitt Gloer officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jack L. and Frances L. Rogers Endowed Nursing Scholarship at New Mexico State University. PDF Printable Version
