Frank B. Moya, 94, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2013, surrounded by his family in his home in Las Cruces. Frank was born October 19, 1918, in McCoy, Texas to Frank and Maria Moya. His four brothers and two sisters, who also lived in Texas, preceded him in death. Frank served in the Army during WWII and was stationed in Germany and France. He met his beautiful bride, Lola Sedillo, before the war and they married in 1941 in Monticello, NM. Before enlisting the Army in 1942, Frank served with the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in northern New Mexico. At the end of WWII, he began a long career with the Federal Service, working at White Sands Missile Range as an Electronics Technician and retiring after 33 years of service in December 1983. He received many accolades for his innovative projects and was well respected by his coworkers. Frank was a member of the Las Cruces Knights of Columbus Council 1226 for many years. He was a Fourth Degree Knight, serving as Grand Knight 1991-1993, and in several other leadership positions. He was a devoted and lifetime member of the Mayfield High School Booster Club. He is survived by his wife, Lola, married 72 years; four sons: Frank (Erni) from Heidelberg, Germany; Steve (Sally) from Albuquerque, NM; Joey (Cynthia) and Billy (Linda) from Las Cruces, NM; 12 grandchildren, Frank (Angela), Liza (Eric), Melanie (Yvette), Stephen (Caitlin), Joe Mike (Veronica), Jimmy (Erika), Jay (Gina), Tony (Danielle), Gabe (Krystal), Jeff (Kathleen), Angel, Andrea (Orlando), and 27 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be on Monday, October 14 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary with a prayer vigil to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 at The Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary with Father Narciso Rivera as Celebrant.Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers will be Frank, Stephen, Joe Mike, Jimmy, Jay, Tony, Gabe and Jeff Moya. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice or the Knights of Columbus Council 1226.
