On August 13,2014 heaven gained an angel and the world lost a great man! Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, umpire and farmer Frank (Kiko) Hinojos left this world to reunite with the love of his life Emma. Their souls are finally together again. He was at home in Rincon, NM surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Frank was born to Juan Hinojos and Dionisia Guerrero Hinojos on October 10, 1931 in Berino, NM. He was the 16th child out of 17siblings. His parents and all of his siblings but one, his great grandson Angel Hinojos and his Godson Charlie Giron preceded Frank in death. He and his family relocated to the Hatch Valley in 1946. As a young man he and his brother Higinio worked odd jobs until they found their "calling". They worked on Ralph Hackey's farm; he was 16 at the time. He was still working on Ralph's farm, until his ailment took its toll on him months prior to his passing. He was a loyal and dedicated employee for 65 years. He never missed a day of work. In 1949 he met the love of his life Emma Padilla. Little did he know their marriage would last just short of 60 years, and include 5 kids, 12 grand children, 15 great grand children, 3 great great grand children and counting. If you were anywhere near the baseball field you knew Frank. He played, coached & umpired for 50 plus years. In his honor the baseball field is now known as Frank Hinojos Ball Park. He was very proud of his beloved team "Farmers and Merchants" which were the only team that boasted 3 consecutive traveling championships; the only team to have achieved this in the history of the league. Those 3 trophies along with the 94 other trophies they won collectively are still in his home today. His team consisted of his brother, sons, nephews, grandson and his favorite catcher his granddaughter Sandi. They were a feisty bunch! Frank was a dedicated and devoted man of his word, a true prayer warrior. He loved the Lord, his family, his friends, the farm, the Dallas Cowboys, and the New York Yankees. Frank will fondly be remembered to all that knew him as a prankster, a hopeless romantic with his querida and a kind heart. He epitomized what it is to be a man, husband, and father! Frank leaves behind his children Johnny (Sandra) of Garfield, NM MaryAnn (Art), Frank Jr. (Josie), Larry (Christine), Marty (Jamie) all of Rincon, NM. His brother Higinio & wife Luisa Hinojos, Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Lara, Mr. & Mrs. Tivo Vallejos, Mr. & Mrs. Juan Padilla, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Sanchez, Veva Giron, Mr. & Mrs. Johnny Gomez, numerous nieces, nephews and friends, survive him. He will be greatly missed and loved forever, until we meet again in the kingdom of the Lord. Serving as pall bearers are: Louie Hinojos, Tim Benavidez, Artie Benavidez, Isaac Benavidez, Larry Hinojos Jr., and Marcus Moyers. Honorary pallbearers will be Art Benavidez, Richard Moyers, Enrique Perez, Lalo Legarretta, Ralph Hackey, Wayne Turner, Ralph Delgado, Joe Benavidez Sr., Pete Morales & Mario Torres and all of his beloved nephews.
