Frank Gomez, a beloved member of the community, has passed away at the age of 95 on February 28, 2024. Frank will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his community, and his numerous passions. Frank always showed great pride for his children. His love for his children knew no bounds, and he took great joy in their accomplishments and milestones. Born and raised in Anthony, NM, Frank was a man of remarkable work ethic, a true jack of all trades. From managing the local cotton gin, to overseeing operations at the electric cooperative, Frank's diverse skill set and tireless determination made him an invaluable asset to the community.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Frank found immense joy in serving his community in various capacities. He served as a Spanish radio show host in Socorro, NM, bringing entertainment to the airwaves. Additionally, Frank took on the role of mayor in Dell City, TX, with pride and dedication, working tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him. A man of strong convictions, Frank believed fervently in the power of democracy and the importance of civic engagement. He made it a point to vote in every election and was a dedicated poll worker for Dona Ana County, understanding the significance of each individual voice in shaping the future. Frank's love for farming ran deep, and he found solace and purpose in the fields he tended and the tractor he cherished. Whether he was working the land or lending a hand to a neighbor in need, Frank's generosity knew no bounds. In addition to his many roles and responsibilities, Frank was a passionate supporter of NMSU athletics. He found great joy in cheering on the Aggies and celebrating their victories, embodying the spirit of loyalty and camaraderie. Though at times stubborn, Frank's heart was always open, and he was often the first to lend a helping hand to those in need. This altruism came from his strong religious faith, which including being a Eucharistic minister and lector at his church.

His legacy of hard work, kindness, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Frank Gomez is survived by his wife of 71 years, Anita; his children Michael (Dianne), Barbara (Dana), Frances (Sally), Mark (Kathie), Libby (Chuy), and Dolores (John); his grandchildren Christopher, Joshua (Maritza), Lionel, Nicole (Zach), Jacob Tyler, Adan, Jacob Ismael, Santana (Angelica), Reyna, and Vicente; and his great-grandchildren Jonah, Mia, Lucia, Viviana, Maddox, and Micah; his sisters Nena, Celia, Susie, and Marica. He is preceded in death by his father Jose, mother Dolores, and brother Chito. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and remembered fondly by all who had the honor of crossing paths with him.

May he rest in peace, forever riding the fields of his beloved farm in spirit. A Memorial service will be held at St Albert the Great Newman Center in Las Cruces, NM on April 13, 2024 at 10:00 am.
